With the spring ahead of us, the registrations for freerides are coming closer. How do you prepare for a registration so you won’t miss out ?

Make sure you’re up to date

  • Add the freeride’s website to your browser’s favorites
  • Subscribe to its newsletter (if they have one)
  • Like the official Facebook page
  • Attend the official Facebook event

If you’ve done this, you’re assured of staying up to date and receive the latest news about the event.

Know the registration start

Every event has a registration procedure. This starts mostly a couple of months before the event takes place. Make sure you know the date when it starts. This info can be found on the website of the event, the Facebook page, the Facebook event or skate sites like this one. Mark that date in your calender and set an alarm.

Know the registration procedure

Not all registrations are the same. The variable is mostly the payment part. Some freerides use your registration as confirmation for the list, some use the payment.

So maybe you could have registered first but if you didn’t pay in time, you’re kicked of the list due to other people registering and paying before you.

Prepare for the registration

If you know how to pay (bank or paypal) you can prepare for that. If you don’t know how payment has to take place, make sure you have enough money on your paypal AND bank account. Transfering money from your bank account to Paypal takes a few days, so do it in advance.

Even better is connect Paypal to you credit card or bank account. That way you can always pay by bank or by paypal. Verification of this procedure mostly takes a few days so don’t wait with doing this until the last day.

Don’t wait until it is too late

Downhilling gets more and more popular. Unfortunately the number of available spots don’t rise accordingly which means more people want to get the same number of spots. So don’t wait and register as soon as you can.

After registration pay as soon as you can. This way you’re more likely to secure a spot.
